Marbella

Marbella is a coastal town in southern spain on the Mediterranean. we stayed right on the beach at the marbella club, a 60 year-old hotel famous for its jet setting guests in the 50s and 60s. it has an old school feel and i (mitch) had to buy dress shoes so we could visit the hotel's outside piano bar. the town itself has a beautiful medina, a walled in center of town built more than 700 years ago. great to stroll the town and stop for drinks and snacks at little cafes along the way. the area is mostly a beach vacation for spaniards and people from all over Europe, so lots of english spoken. besides my 24 hour bout with food poisoning we had a terrific time in the sun, on the beach and in the ocean.
