Meson El Pastor

In September 2000 I (mitch) visited Spain with two of my best friends, Jason and Justin, and we stumbled upon the small town of Aranda del duero, in the Ribera region. There i had one of the best meals of my life at a restaurant called Meson El Pastor. Today April and i stopped there for lunch on our way to Rioja. The place is old school, from the decor to the staff, with a wood-burning brick oven at its heart. The specialty is lechazo asado, roast baby lamb with crackling skin and tender meat. April gives it a big thumbs up (and comments on how much her dad would love it!) and we vow to return for lunch another time soon.
